The thing about God’s faithfulness is…

Excerpts from full post

“…Psa 105:19, ‘until what he said came to pass, the word of the LORD tried him.’

That Word ‘tried’ is brought into the New Testament as…of all things…get ready for this… ‘chosen.’  Think about it.  The Word of the Lord had ‘chosen’ him.

God thought about you.  He mulled over what to do with you, to reject you or to bless you by keeping you.  He selected you.  His very desire tried you.  There were some things about you that he desired nothing of!  But your beauty captivated Him, even arresting His affection for you.  The truth is, there was never any doubt in His mind; He couldn’t let you go, the lovely work of His hands.  He had to have you!  So He made a way for all of your ‘undesirable’ attributes to be removed.

S.o.S. 7:10,  I am my Lover’s, and His desire is for me.
S.o.S. 8:6,  Set me as a seal upon Your heart … for love is strong as death, jealousy is fierce as the grave. Its flashes are flashes of fire, the very flame of the LORD.

When you rest your all (good, bad and ugly) in the Cross of Christ His power is at work, rising in you and meant to overflow through you, ‘He loves me!  He loves me so much that He said He would _______ for me and I believe Him.’  Your faith serves His pleasure and purposes.

The thing about God’s faithfulness is that…it comes! …”

Just say the Word

Excerpts from full post

“ ‘A servant over whom his master has no power is not called a servant’ (Ancient Jewish saying; John Gill on Matthew 8:9).

…children of God enter the center of God’s convenience through agreeing to be His servants – out of knowing and relying on His love, as opposed to trying to earn His approval.  They serve in response to God’s reckless favor toward them…”
