Taking Canaan

“There is no condemnation for those who live in the attitude of God’s mind” (a paraphrase born out through this week’s message).

Some say, “Attitude determines altitude!”  The truth is, yielding to God’s attitude lifts you, helping you to overcome “negative inner vows.”  God has more forgiveness for you to take!

I think the following quotes from Oswald Chambers echoes the messages we’ve relayed in recent weeks and also nicely introduces the Word of God this week:

“…Compared with the miracle of the forgiveness of sin, the experience of sanctification is small. Sanctification is simply the wonderful expression or evidence of the forgiveness of sins in a human life.

We are designed with a great capacity for God, but sin, our own individuality, and wrong thinking keep us from getting to Him. God delivers us from sin— we have to deliver ourselves from our individuality.

We must see to it that we aid and assist God, and not stand against Him by saying, ‘I can’t do that.’ We must discipline ourselves. God will not bring our ‘arguments…and every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ’ (2 Corinthians 10:5)— we have to do it. Don’t say, ‘Oh, Lord, I suffer from wandering thoughts.’ Don’t suffer from wandering thoughts.

It is what Paul meant in Galatians 2:20 when he said, ‘I have been crucified with Christ…’ His individuality had been broken and his spirit had been united with his Lord; not just merged into Him, but made one with Him. ‘…you shall be free indeed’— free to the very core of your being; free from the inside to the outside…”

This Thanksgiving you will be in our hearts and your name will be crossing our lips as we gratefully point out to God all the wonderful blessings He has provided us in our Promised Land.  We always praise God for you and hereby thank you for being part of God’s manifest attitude of favor towad us!  May you enjoy a fulfilling, healthy, peaceful and prosperous holiday season, ever mindful of the grace of God in Christ.

Through Jesus’ Giving Name,
