The Day After

I’m so glad God is still leading justice to victory because I know His Victory is our Peace.

America, when you get what you’ve been clamoring for (for sooo long) you will be sorely disappointed.

“Our courts oppose the righteous, and justice is nowhere to be found. Truth stumbles in the streets, and honesty has been outlawed. Yes, truth is gone, and anyone who renounces evil is attacked. The LORD looked and was displeased to find that there was no justice. He was amazed to see that no one intervened to help the oppressed…” Isaiah 59:14-16.

“Yet even in those days,” declares the LORD, “I will not destroy you completely.” And when the people ask, ‘Why has the LORD our God done all this to us?’ you will tell them, ‘As you have forsaken Me and served foreign gods in your own land, so now you will serve foreigners in a land not your own.’” Jer. 5:18-19

And, Psalm 82:

We’re praying for people to develop a hunger for God … and I have been going through the 100s of sermons created during my time in the pulpit in North Dakota, creating a library so that people may find God’s Word through our labors.

Most recently, Jeremiah 42 has provided comfort.  In this chapter, the “good land” (analogous to elections free of fraud, for example) had been over run by enemies.  The people of God were afraid … and wanted to flee from oppression (where they were) to Egypt (slavery).  God instructed His people to stay put, promising His tender care would find them right where they were.  Sadly, like those who refused to submit to God in America over the last four years, the children of God made the *fatal mistake* of longing so desperately for another place that they completely disregarded God’s Word.  The rub is, God also promised them that if they fled to another land rather than learning to submit to Him right where they were … all the terrible things they thought they were fleeing from would meet them in the place to which they fled.

Will you flee from oppression to slavery?  Or stay put, in the Lord, and enjoy the beautiful promises of good that are found in the chapter
